Really liked your article about Harold and Kumar. Some of the comments were lame but… oh well.. it’s the internet. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing the 2nd film. I’m mixed race and I totally didn’t notice that Harold and Kumar is probably one of the only American movies out there (meaning non-martial arts based) with two Asian leads. Once it was pointed out to me I was like…. duh! I guess like most people out there.

Thanks! Yeah, my favorite comment was “Kumar isn’t Asian, he’s Indian” or something. Genius, right? It actually makes me happy that you didn’t really notice– I like to think it’s because Harold and Kumar came across as normal characters rather than as “a couple of Asians,” if that makes sense.
There’s more emphasis on racial humor in the second film, and in my opinion it’s not quite as good, but still fun. Neil Patrick Harris makes everything better.

The best part about Neil Patrick Harris in the first film is seeing him surrounded by naked ladies like he’s all about them when he’s totally gay.
